Joan & Her Philosophy

About

Joan E. Murphy is a Registered Nurse with an M.S. in Management and a Ph.D. in Behavioral Psychology. She has held a number of positions during her 53 year career at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, IL, including Professional Mentor for Health Care Management and Director of Women's Wellness Consultants & Community Health.

Her other roles included the management of critical care units, staff education, patient and family education and management training. She has been the recipient of five special awards for her work in these areas.

Philosophy

Joan believes that the problems we encounter in our life are often small and can cause a great deal of damage to our physical and emotional self; but the good news is there are learned behaviors that can help us manage our response to these problems in a positive way.

She also believes it is her mission to bring wisdom, meaning and laughter into the lives of others. She gives her audiences and customers the 'Triple A Treatment' which is Attention, Appreciation and Affection. She believes it is a privilege to have the opportunity to speak to others on the topics that she addresses.
